Horacio Ruiz is a graduate of the University of Central Florida's DeVos Sport Business Management Graduate Program where he earned dual masters degrees in Business Administration and Sport Business Management. He attended the University of Florida as an undergraduate where he received his degree in Exercise and Sport Sciences. While at the University of Central Florida, Ruiz was a co-founder of the Hope for Stanley Alliance along with a group of his inspired peers. The purpose for establishing the Alliance was to create opportunities for people in sports to volunteer in New Orleans. Upon graduating from the University of Central Florida in December 2007, he accepted a position with the New Orleans Hornets as an inside sales consultant responsible for selling full season and partial season ticket plans before accepting the Coordinator position for the Hope for Stanley Alliance. He now hopes to bring many people in sports to New Orleans to help rebuild the city. Raised in Miami, Fla., Ruiz was born in Managua, Nicaragua. His father, mother, and sister currently reside in Miami.
